Three factors to reduce your jetlag severity to near-zero
Jetlag can be quite annoying for several days — in particular if you travel eastwards. Fortunately, there are ways to reduce it to a near-zero severity on the day of your arrival.
I recently went to a conference and it involved a long-distance trip across six time zones. In the week before, I was not looking forward to the usual jetlag but recalled a podcast and a tip to try out the TimeShifter app. It worked brilliantly! You enter your flights and it suggests a plan to minimize jetlag. The main downside is the rather steep annual subscription of around 30 USD. I usually don’t have more than one transatlantic travel per year and I think 30 USD to reduce jetlag is a bit much. I must also admit that I did not follow the TimeShifter app’s plan to the point. Much to my surprise, I did actually manage to almost eliminate the jetlag both traveling six time zones westward on the way out and eastward on the way home. In particular, I was surprised by the near-zero jetlag I suffered traveling eastwards as this is usually the flight I have to spend most days recovering from. In conclusion, the plan suggested by TimeShifter had clearly helped and I, therefore, studied in detail to see if I could save 30 bucks per year and still harvest the benefit. This article explains how you reduce jetlag without the annual subscription.
