Hi Tom,

Yes, they have some commonality with mind maps though Mind maps are (as I was taught them) typically arranged with a central theme and nodes around this. Concept maps are more like an associative web where you can jump from one node to the next. Admittedly, the examples I have in the article are very mindmap-like, but I have others that are more directed graph like :-)
