Micro-changes may have major impact if we all habitualize them!

Introduction

In an era where climate change is no longer a distant threat but a present reality, the need for sustainable living has never been more urgent. As individuals, our daily choices have the power to either contribute to environmental degradation or foster positive change. Recycling stands out as one of the most accessible and impactful actions we can take to reduce our carbon footprint.

This article delves into five surprising(?) recycling hacks that not only simplify the process but also maximize its benefits.

Hack 1 — webshop shipping boxes

My local shopping street is caving in to the pressure from webshops. Like most modern people, I order stuff on the internet, which shows up in small boxes. In Denmark, we have a rather extensive recycling system and I normally take these boxes to the cardboard container at the recycling station. One day, I reflected on how this cardboard is recycled. Without knowing all the details, I would guess this cardboard needs to pass through a rather long sequence of steps before it is recycled into similar small cardboard boxes. Steps that all require some energy to complete.
